St. Gerard Circle is pleased to sponsor one $1000 scholarship for a high school senior who is a Nativity parishioner and is planning to attend an institution of higher education in Fall of 2025. Information is also available via the Hillsborough County Scholarship Matrix.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a high school senior.
- Must be a registered parishioner of Nativity Catholic Church (family member or individual).
- Must be a resident of the Greater Brandon area and currently attending a local high school. (or homeschooled in the local Brandon area).
- Must apply to an accredited institution of higher learning (i.e. Junior College, 4-year college, university or technical institute).
- Have an academic standing of a 3.0 unweighted – grade point average.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Fully completed and signed scholarship application.
- Each applicant must prepare a statement ( typed ) of approximately 50-100 words citing personal reasons addressing motivation for applying for this scholarship.
- Each applicant must prepare an essay ( typed ) of no more than 500 words from one of the two topics provided.
- A counselor/county office superintendent report must be submitted.
- Two letters of recommendation. Each must be from a different adult member of the applicant’s school, church, community, club, who has known the applicant for at least three years. The adult cannot be a relative. Total of two letters required.
The judging process will be a panel of impartial judges that will review all applications presented and received by the deadline on March 24, 2025.
IMPORTANT : Be sure your application packet is submitted no later than March 24, 2025. Incomplete packets or those received after the deadline will not be considered. Failure to meet all the requirements and provide documentation on time will disqualify the applicant)
Any student who receives a scholarship award must contact the registrar at the college or school of learning where enrollment has been accepted for verification of enrollment. Verification must be forwarded to the St. Gerard Scholarship Chair, at stgerardscholarship@gmail.com.
Scholarship award money will then be forwarded directly to the financial aid office. Awards not claimed will be forfeited 16 months from the date presented at the St. Gerard’s meeting on May 13, 2025.
